The Army of the 12 Monkeys is a movement of prisoners resisting their confinement through direct action and guerrilla warfare. They first appeared in various Ohio prisons in the fall of 2012.

This is the website of the A12M press office. We are not members of A12M, nor do we necessarily support or condone the tactics or activities discussed on this site. We are a news source covering forms or instances of prisoner resistance that often go unnoticed and unreported. We think people should know what goes on in prisons and the lengths some prisoners resort to when pursuing liberation, or attempting to retain their humanity through resistance.

We are not affiliated with alleged anarchist prisoner Sean Swain (SeanSwain.org) who has been accused of leading the Army of the 12 Monkeys, an accusation which he denies.
